color blind theory

question - what if the blue you saw is not the blue i see?
i suppose i could look it up, but colors must be, to some extent, subjective. just because our eyes are triggered in the same way doesn't mean we interpret the colors the same, does it? can someone else research this? cause a few months ago i had this long discussion with eric on the subject and i think he ended up calling me stupid and so we came to no authoritative conclusion aside from name-calling, which is one successful way to end a discussion without feeling satisfied on either part. but i still wonder if the blue that i see is the same blue that you see. what if we all like the same kind of colors, but what i think of as green, you see as orange?
i'm gonna go wallow in my stupidity now.
